Pros
- A real 14-day trial with no credit card: 2,500 email sends, 1,250 contacts, unlimited mailbox connections, white labelling the only exclusion - enough to run an actual campaign before paying
- No per-mailbox and no per-seat fee. Every plan includes unlimited email accounts, and that is a line-item saving against an existing inbox bill rather than a marketing claim
- 4.5 out of 5 from 450 reviews on G2 - a real body of evidence rather than a badge
- The add-on price list is published: the $59 verified-lead add-on, the $39 server, the $29 workspace and the mailbox prices, rather than a sales call
- The 17% annual discount is reproducible plan by plan, and the fact sheet's annual totals are exactly twelve times its monthly rate ($32.50 × 12 = $390, $78.30 × 12 = $939.60, $144.50 × 12 = $1,734)
- The 3-emails-to-1-verified-lead rule matches the advertised allowances on three of the four plans (6,000 ÷ 3 = 2,000, 90,000 ÷ 3 = 30,000, 150,000 ÷ 3 = 50,000), so you can check your own tier with the vendor's own rule
- The roadmap is legible: email, LinkedIn and calling with 116+ MCP tools, and case studies that name customers and numbers rather than anonymous logos
- The knowledge base states what counts against the send limit (every outbound campaign email including follow-ups and bounces; not replies, bounce notices or unsubscribes) and that warmup email never counts
- Support runs through live chat, email and a help centre with a "Copy for LLM" button on every article - better documented than most competitors' help centres
- The company is checkable: 521 Products Pty Ltd, ACN 645 593 835, trading as Smartlead.ai, with a parent-agency link to five2one.com.au
Cons
- The two machine-readable fact sheets the vendor publishes so AI systems quote it accurately contradict each other: pricing.md says Prime sends 500,000 emails a month, llms.txt says 510,000, and the live page prints 510K in the strip and 500,000 in the card. llms.txt also gives the G2 score as 4.6 where G2 reads 4.5
- Whether verified prospect emails are included on Base and Pro is not resolvable from the vendor's own materials - the fact sheet's prose says a $59 add-on, its table says included, and the page shows both. If the $59 buys those 2,000, Base costs $98 a month, not $39
- The Fair Use Policy publishes mailbox ceilings for three plan names that are not on sale ("Basic plan - 100 mailboxes", "Popular plan – 300 mailboxes and Pro plan - 800 mailboxes"), so the ceiling for the tier you buy is documented nowhere
- The help centre promises new customers a 7-day refund guarantee while clause 7.7 of the Terms says fees are non-refundable and clause 1.4 says the contract prevails; renewals get 3 days only if you did not use the product, and "low open rates" and a suspended account are explicitly not qualifying reasons
- Every add-on is outside the refund policy and "strictly non-refundable" - SmartSenders, SmartInfra, SmartDelivery, SmartProspects, Email Verification and SmartDialer - which is where mailboxes, servers and extra leads all sit
- The two most expensive self-serve tiers cannot be cancelled from the dashboard: Base and Pro can cancel in Settings, while Unlimited Smart and Unlimited Prime are Custom Plans that require a support ticket
- The public review record reads as three products, and the largest sample scores lowest: G2 4.5 from 450, Capterra 4.3 from 7, Trustpilot 2.9 from 140. Capterra also misstates both the price and the model: "$29 Per User, Per Month" against a $39 entry plan priced "not per seat and not per mailbox"
- Users blame the in-platform lead data more than anything else: one measured "over 60% of emails bounced" from scraped leads, and another said the leads "quality is not up to par go with other data provider but as sending software it's fine" - verify a sample before relying on it

Pricing
Base
$39 per month, or $32 a month billed yearly ($390 a year) — the page loads in yearly mode, so $32 is what you see first
- 2,000 contacts, 6,000 emails sent a month, 2,000 verified prospect emails a month
- No CRM access, no API and no webhooks, and no client workspaces — connecting this tier to anything else starts at Pro
- Verified prospect emails are listed as a $59-a-month add-on here; the vendor's own fact sheet calls the feature "a $59 per month add-on on Base and Pro" while its table lists 2,000 as included, so the page never says whether the 2,000 are included or cost $59 on top - and if they do, Base's real entry cost is $98 a month
- Warmup pool is the "Foundation" tier; the vendor's fact sheets state "unlimited email warmup" on every plan, which is about volume, not about which pool you are in
Pro
$94 per month, or $78 a month billed yearly ($939.60 a year)
- 30,000 contacts, 90,000 emails sent a month, 30,000 verified prospect emails a month
- The first tier with CRM access, API and webhooks — and the first that can add client workspaces at $29 a month each and private infrastructure at $39 a month per server
- "Growth" warmup pool: the pools bundled with a subscription are tiered rather than identical, and the help centre states which one you get
Unlimited Smart
$174 per month, or $144 a month billed yearly ($1,734 a year)
- Unlimited contacts, 150,000 emails sent a month, 50,000 verified prospect emails a month, now included rather than a $59 add-on
- Marked "MOST POPULAR" on the pricing page; the vendor's fact sheet calls it "the most ROI-heavy plan"
- "Premium" warmup pool, "Eligible for Ultrapremium", plus CSM call access
Unlimited Prime
$379 per month, or $315 a month billed yearly — the only tier whose yearly figure the page rounds up from the fact sheet's $314.60
- Unlimited contacts, 3 SmartServers plus OAuth, 3+ client workspaces, a dedicated manager and a private Slack channel
- Its monthly send allowance is printed twice on the pricing page: the comparison strip above the cards reads 510K, and the card directly beneath it reads 500,000 Email sends
- The vendor's own conversion rule resolves which is right — "Every 3 emails sent earns 1 verified prospect email", and 510,000 ÷ 3 = 170,000, exactly the verified-lead allowance this tier advertises, while 500,000 ÷ 3 = 166,667
Add-ons, on top of any plan
$59 / $39 / $29 per month each, on top of the plan price
- $59 a month for additional verified prospect emails on Base and Pro, $39 a month per SmartServer of private infrastructure, $29 a month per client workspace
- SmartSenders sells the mailboxes themselves: Google or Outlook from Zapmail at $13 per domain a year and $4.50 per mailbox a month fresh, or $18 a year and $9 a month pre-warmed; Outlook via InfraInbox at $16 and $5; SMTP via Mailreef at $19 and $3.99
- SmartDelivery inbox-placement testing runs $49, $174 and $599 a month; SmartDialer is credit-based from $9 a month; email verification is sold in credit packs from 6,000 to 960,000 credits, from $32
- Every one of these is listed as strictly non-refundable: "This refund policy applies only to Smartlead's core subscription plans. The following add-on products are not covered and are strictly non-refundable" — SmartSenders, SmartInfra (formerly SmartServers), SmartDelivery, SmartProspects, Email Verification and SmartDialer
Who it is for
- Agencies and lead-gen shops that need per-client separation and unlimited mailboxes, where the $29-a-month workspace and the absence of a per-mailbox fee are worth more than the plan price suggests
- Anyone who wants to test cold-email infrastructure without a card - the 14-day trial with 2,500 sends is a genuine evaluation, not a demo, and it is the cheapest way to find out whether the deliverability claim holds on your own domains
- Teams that will use the API, MCP tools or CRM sync, which start at Pro and are the point at which this product stops being a sending tool and becomes infrastructure
- Senders already paying per mailbox elsewhere, for whom "unlimited email accounts" is a direct line-item saving that is easy to compute against their current invoice
- Buyers who will pay monthly rather than yearly, since the exit terms are the same on both and monthly keeps the exposure to one billing period instead of twelve
- High-volume senders who need dedicated IPs, because $39 a month per SmartServer is published rather than quoted, and the top tier includes three of them
- Readers who check claims themselves. The pricing here is legible enough to verify plan by plan, and the arithmetic in this review reproduces from the vendor's own published rule
- Teams that care about how follow-ups and bounces count against a send limit, because the help centre states it: every outbound campaign email counts, including one that bounces, while warmup email is tracked separately and never counts
