HostArmada

Managed cloud shared hosting from $1.99/month on a 36-month prepay — 15 GB NVMe, 2 cores and 2 GB of RAM behind cPanel and LiteSpeed, with a genuine 45-day money-back window on shared plans and a 4.8 Trustpilot record. The catch is the invoice after the first one.

Pros

  • $1.99/month for 15 GB of NVMe, 2 CPU cores and 2 GB of RAM — $71.64 for 36 months, with 2 extra months and a free domain thrown in. The same plan on an annual cycle is $2.39/month, and the 12-month total is $28.68
  • Shared, WordPress and Reseller plans carry a real 45-day money-back guarantee on initial orders, which is 15 days longer than the industry-standard 30 and far longer than the hosts reviewed here that refund nothing at all
  • Trustpilot 4.8 from 1,125 reviews (95% five-star, 68 in the last 12 months, 100% of negative reviews answered), G2 4.9 from 313 and HostAdvice 4.9 from 1,144 — three independent records rather than one self-published badge
  • Review Signal's 2026 WordPress benchmark under the $25/month tier placed it on Honorable Mention: 9 errors against 786,000 LoadStorm requests, a 110 ms static average, uptime above 99.98% on all three monitors and an A+ SSL grade
  • cPanel, LiteSpeed, NVMe and the Speed Reaper stack (LiteSpeed Cache, Memcached, APCu, Brotli, Cloudflare CDN) on every shared plan, with Imunify360, a WAF and free daily backups as standard
  • Nine locations on one account including Sydney, Mumbai and Singapore — Asia-Pacific capacity at a price bracket that usually offers one US and one European city
  • Free migration, free SSL, free cPanel, no setup fee and no cancellation fee, and a no-cost upgrade path from shared to VPS to Cloud Servers without moving provider
  • No governing-law, jurisdiction or arbitration clause in the general Terms of Service or the Service Level Agreement — a notable absence for a US-registered host, and the opposite of the Delaware AAA arbitration clause several hosts reviewed here impose
  • Google's CrUX field data puts average TTFB across 1,113 HostArmada-hosted sites at 1.6 s in August 2026, down from 2.2 s in October 2025 — the platform has been getting measurably faster, not slower

Cons

  • The promotional price covers the first invoice only. The Cancellations and Refunds Policy states that any initial price applies only to the first paid invoice and that promotional purchases renew at the regular price, and renewal payments are explicitly excluded from the money-back guarantee. G2's most-cited complaint is cost, and Trustpilot's two most substantive negatives (25 Oct 2025 and 28 Aug 2025) are both the same renewal jump
  • The discount is measured against a moving base: the vendor's own Regular Price for Start Dock is $12.95/month on monthly billing, $11.95 annual, $10.95 biennial and $9.95 triennial, so the 80% OFF badge is applied to four different numbers. The page's separate save 5% / 10% / 15% cycle copy does not reconcile with those regular prices either
  • Monthly billing voids the guarantee: the pricing page states outright that the 45 Days Money-Back policy is not applicable on a Monthly Billing Cycle, and the refund policy lists monthly shared and reseller purchases as ineligible. VPS and Dedicated CPU get 7 days, not 45 — yet the same policy's ineligibility list still refers to VPS being active for more than 45 days
  • Uptime compensation is account credit only, capped at 10% of the monthly fee per hour up to 100% or 10 hours, and the SLA states that HostArmada's internal records are the basis of the calculation: third-party downtime reports are explicitly rejected as evidence
  • The VPS pricing page promises an automated backup at no extra cost, while the SLA states that data on Virtual Private and Dedicated Servers will not be backed up unless you subscribe to the VPS/DS backup service. Two vendor pages, two answers, and the contract is the stricter one
  • The datacentre page carries three different footprints: 23 Datacenters in 5 Continents in the bullet list, 9 Global Datacenter Locations in the stat block, and only 7 locations with published test IPs below them — with Dallas listed twice in the map
  • Reddit's most specific reports are about the installer and the onboarding email: a wp-content/ha-custom.php file plus a line injected into wp-config.php by the Softaculous WordPress install, which support said could not be disabled per account and recommended a VPS instead, having been blamed for sitemap XML failures; and a June 2025 report of cPanel credentials arriving in a plaintext email

Pricing

Start Dock / WP Launcher (shared and WordPress)

$1.99 per month on the 36-month cycle; $2.19 biennial, $2.39 annual, $12.95 monthly

  • 15 GB NVMe storage, 2 CPU cores, 2 GB RAM, 1 website, 7 daily backups
  • The advertised $1.99/month is a $71.64 up-front payment for 36 months, with 2 extra months and a free domain included
  • Monthly billing removes the 45-day money-back guarantee — the vendor's own pricing page says so

Web Warp / WP Evolver (shared and WordPress)

$3.29 per month on the 36-month cycle; $3.51 biennial, $3.73 annual, $19.75 monthly

  • 30 GB NVMe, 4 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, unlimited websites, 14 daily backups
  • Marked BEST VALUE — the plan most buyers should take, at $118.44 for the full 36 months
  • Adds unlimited addon domains and free private nameservers over the entry plan

Speed Reaper / WP Speed Reaper (shared and WordPress)

$3.95 per month on the 36-month cycle; $4.39 annual, $23.05 monthly

  • 40 GB NVMe, 6 CPU cores, 6 GB RAM, unlimited websites, 21 daily backups
  • The only tier with dynamic caching: Memcached, APCu and HTTP/3 alongside LiteSpeed Cache
  • $142.20 for 36 months is less than seven months of the same plan on monthly billing

VPS Spark (self-managed)

$3.69 per month on the annual cycle; $7.38 biennial, $8.40 monthly

  • 1 CPU core, 1 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe, 2 TB bandwidth, dedicated IPv4, full root
  • $44.28 for the year — the price the OzBargain deal post quotes, which is how the annual cycle undercuts the 24-month one
  • Includes 17 Tbit/s DDoS filtering and manual snapshots, but the SLA excludes VPS from HostArmada's backup service

VPS Fusion (self-managed)

$10.74 per month on the annual cycle; $19.33 biennial, $22.00 monthly

  • 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 160 GB NVMe, 5 TB bandwidth
  • Marked BEST VALUE in the VPS line and the cheapest way to get 8 GB here
  • Eight cores and 16 GB is $16.89/month on the same cycle ($202.68 a year)

Cloud Servers Web Shuttle

$29.95 per month on monthly billing; the quarterly cycle is the only other option

  • 1 CPU core, 2 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 2 TB bandwidth, 5 free cPanel accounts, dedicated IP and full root
  • The line that merges VPS resources with cPanel accounts — it is the reseller-adjacent product, not a cheaper VPS
  • Monthly and quarterly billing only: there is no annual cycle to discount, and no advertising of the 7-day VPS refund window on this page

Who it is for

  • Anyone who wants managed shared hosting with cPanel, LiteSpeed, NVMe and daily backups for under $3/month and is willing to prepay 12 months — the annual cycle keeps the 45-day money-back guarantee and costs $28.68 for the first year
  • WordPress site owners who need a 45-day window to test speed, support and migration before committing, because that window is the longest this site has found on a host at this price
  • Buyers who need a server in Sydney, Mumbai or Singapore as well as the US and Europe, and want to move between regions on the same account
  • Small agencies and resellers who want a cheap managed account with multiple cPanel accounts rather than raw root — the Cloud Servers line bundles 5 free cPanel accounts and a dedicated IP from $29.95/month
  • Developers who want a cheap self-managed VPS with a dedicated IPv4, full root and DDoS filtering — the VPS line starts at $44.28 for the year
  • Readers who will diarise the renewal date. Every one of the negatives above is survivable if you know the second invoice is the regular price and re-shop before it lands

Starting price: $2.50 first month, then $7/month

Best for: Developers who want root access and are willing to run their own server

4.2 4.2 out of 5
