Pros
- A free plan that is genuinely usable rather than a trial: no credit card, unlimited learners, 3 mini courses and enough AI allowance to judge whether the output survives your own editing before you pay anything
- Unlimited learners on every tier including Free — nothing in the ladder is priced per learner, which removes the hardest cost for a training team to forecast
- The annual badge is arithmetically honest: 'Yearly (2 months free)' is exactly 16.7% off at every tier ($30→$25, $100→$83, $300→$250), and the annual AI allowance is exactly 12× the monthly one, so ten months of payment buys twelve months of credits
- Pro is the cheapest place in the ladder to buy AI pages at $0.014 a credit against Creator's $0.060, a saving of more than four times — and the video meter runs the same way, at $1.33 a minute against Creator's $6.00
- Self-hosted SCORM and LTI start at Pro rather than at the top tier, so a course can be taken to another LMS as a standalone copy that keeps running after you cancel
- A real, checkable company and funding record: Coursebox Pty Ltd (ABN 64 652 541 798), registered 4 August 2021, headquartered in Perth, with named founders, a $750,000 seed round from Purpose Ventures covered independently by Startup Daily, and $1M ARR with 1,000+ paying customers on its own history page
- Its GDPR certificate is a number you can verify yourself — AQSR Certificate #17412, current from July 2026 — and the security page names every GDPR Article 28 sub-processor and states encryption in transit and at rest
- It names its AI stack instead of hiding behind 'our AI': Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini for images, HeyGen for avatar video, ElevenLabs for voice
- The third-party rating is cited with a platform, a live review count and a link to the profile — '4.7 / 5 · 98 reviews on Capterra', where the page itself reads 99 — and the vendor replies to reviews including the negative ones
- The AI tutor is course-scoped by default, the vendor states it will not answer quiz questions, and no pass/fail decision is automated — which is what makes it usable in settings that need review
Cons
- There is no refund window: the Client Terms state that monthly and annual fees are 'nonrefundable', with a statutory carve-out only for Australian consumers under the Australian Consumer Law, so the free plan is the entire risk reversal and the evaluation has to happen before you pay
- The AI policy says your content 'never' trains their models and calls it 'contractually assured', while Client Terms §7.4 reserve the right to 'train our base foundation models' with the client's consent — ask for the absolute version in writing before uploading client material or learner data
- Cancellation has two published outcomes: the pricing FAQ says 'your courses are not deleted' while the help centre says cancelling an LMS plan means 'all data will be hard deleted and not recoverable' — ask support in writing and export before you cancel a portal with learners in it
- AI credits cannot be topped up: there is no credit add-on, so exceeding a month's allowance means moving up a tier, and 500 page credits is Creator's hard ceiling — size the tier to the month you expect to have
- Admin seats are a second per-person meter on top of the AI meter: one seat is included, each additional seat is $83/month annual or $100/month monthly, and 'anyone who creates or edits courses counts as an admin' — price the seats for a three-person team first
- There is no SLA below Enterprise and the contract says so — Coursebox 'targets ~99%+ availability but does not guarantee uptime' — and 'AI capability units' are metered on every paid tier while being defined nowhere, which makes them an unpredictable cost

Pricing
Free
$0 forever — no card required
- 3 mini courses, each up to 5 pages, and unlimited learners
- AI allowances are one-time, not monthly: 150 AI page credits, 2 AI images, 100 AI tutor messages, 1 minute of AI video, 10 voice minutes
- Published courses carry a 'Created with Coursebox' watermark until you pay for any plan
Creator
$30 per month billed monthly; $25/month billed yearly ($300 a year), roughly 10 courses a month of AI
- 500 AI page credits a month (6,000 a year), 20 AI images, 1,000 AI tutor messages, 5 minutes of AI video and 50 voice minutes
- Watermark removed, completion certificates, basic reporting, 1 admin seat
- Export PDF, HTML and SCORM — but the SCORM export is a dynamic connection and 'an active subscription is required for it to keep running'
Pro
$100 per month billed monthly; $83/month billed yearly ($1,000 a year)
- Everything in Creator, with 14× the AI credits: 7,000 AI page credits a month (84,000 a year), 300 images, 10,000 tutor messages, 75 minutes of AI video, 500 voice minutes, plus 40 'AI capability units'
- Your logo and brand colours on the portal, self-hosted SCORM and LTI export, and SCORM import
- 1 admin seat included; extra seats are $100/month monthly or $83/month yearly. The card states plainly what Pro does not include: your own branded LMS
Pro + LMS
$300 per month billed monthly; $250/month billed yearly ($3,000 a year)
- It is Pro plus the LMS add-on — the annual card prices the add-on itself at '+ Add LMS: $167/mo', and Pro's $83 plus $167 is the $250 shown for this tier
- The AI allowance is identical to Pro: the extra money buys the portal, not credits
- Adds your own domain with full white-labelling, learner and group management with CSV bulk enrolment, learning pathways, points and badges with a leaderboard, a resource library and shared calendar, advanced reporting and CSV export, and announcements and Q&A
Enterprise
Custom sold under a signed agreement, with a minimum 2-year initial term
- Everything in Pro + LMS plus 4,200,000 AI page credits a year, multiple portals, API access, a 99.9% uptime SLA and a choice of hosting region (data is hosted in France by default)
- SSO is a paid add-on at $3,000 USD a year on top of the contract
- The only tier with an MSA, a DPA, a vendor security assessment and a dedicated support contact
Who it is for
- Training and L&D teams that already have the source material — a document, a video, a slide deck or a prompt — and need a course out of it without a design toolchain
- Course creators who want to sell: Stripe checkout, certificates and a course portal without buying a separate platform
- Teams that must deliver into their own LMS, since self-hosted SCORM and LTI start at Pro rather than at the top tier
- Organisations that need a branded portal and refuse per-learner pricing — unlimited learners are included even on the free plan
- Buyers who size the tier by AI usage: Pro's $0.014 a page credit is the cheapest in the ladder, and it is the last tier before the portal
- Buyers who read the paperwork: this is one of the few vendors in this catalogue whose certificates, sub-processors and financial milestones can all be checked independently
